oil and vinegar cruets are the perfect olive oil bottles for your dining table

Oil and Vinegar Cruets

Have you ever picked up a slippery olive oil bottle and right then and wondered, which oil and vinegar cruet should I use? The old saying,  “You get what you pay for.” You just may have used an inexpensive bottle which you found at a local Dollar Store or one of those discount stores. They usually are not ornate in design and are designed just to be handy. If the spout of one of those inexpensive bottles is not made from ceramic or stainless steel, then these bottles are subject to corrosion, especially when vinegar is stored in them. It can make for a very unsightly look and your guests may hesitate in using it at the table. Instead, why not charm your guests with a professional and elegant oil and vinegar cruet? At you can find the best looking oil and vinegar cruets that don’t cost much.

Olive Oil and Vinegar Cruet Grape Bunch Design

Olive oil needs to be stored in a different container other than the dispensing bottle. In the grocery store, you no doubt have noticed that olive oil is purchased in dark bottles. This is to protect the oil from ultraviolet lights. All you have to do is then pour your olive oil into the cruet and cork. When you go to pour next time, you will find it so much easier!

On the table, though, you will want to use an attractive oil and vinegar cruet to store your olive oil in when dining. It would be best to pour about ten ounces of olive oil into the cruet, and then better to refill it more often as it will guarantee freshness and the delicate flavor will be preserved. You can also store another type of olive oil in the other compartment, or your vinegar.

Your finest olive oil can be presented in an oil and vinegar cruet which comes in tasteful Euro designs. Because the neck of a cruet is wide, drips are practically non-existent and the glass spouts will not corrode. The most durable glass is used to create these oil and vinegar cruets, so you are getting a cruet that will last a long time as cared for. They can be used to dispense olive oil, vinegar or even flavored syrups. Acting as funnels, these wide neck bottles will prevent the distasteful oily contact of handling bottles that are prone to drip their contents.

After all, you have planned for a very special occasion. You want everything to be just perfect, even right down to the oil and vinegar cruet that will hold your expensive extra virgin olive oil and also that will protect your olive oil from light and air. You have learned the many benefits of using olive oil in your cooking and you want to make sure your guest will also enjoy these benefits.

To save money, you had learned that not all oil and vinegar cruets are created equal and you have just found the best oil and vinegar cruet that will definitely meet your needs. No longer will your guests have to struggle with a container that drips oil. Nor a container that is visibly corroded due to having vinegar stored in it. Your meal is guaranteed to be a pleasant experience when you, the chef, have taken the time to investigate and purchase a cruet that can make the table rounds without the worry of olive oil making a mess.

The use of extra virgin olive oil is a world wide condiment and using the right oil and vinegar cruet is very important. This international diet trend is making headway in the United States. Extra virgin olive oil is a very healthy unsaturated fat recognized to be heart healthy. While the Mediterranean area is the focal point when it comes to growing olives, the use of olive oil is seen even in areas which do not grow olives. Olive oil is used in all kinds of culinary dishes and has replaced other vegetable oils for cooking. Salads are livened up with extra virgin olive oil is sprinkled throughout. Many have also included balsamic vinegar in addition to the extra virgin olive oil to their tossed salads.

Glass Oil and Vinegar Cruet Set

Containers and cruets for olive oil and vinegar need to be well-designed. There are few bottles used for oil and vinegar that are convenient in a table setting. Because oil and vinegar cruets come in a pair, being able to design bottles that eliminate drips is what you will need to be on the look out for and purchase. There is a new European design that holds both oil and vinegar in an elegant see through glass. It has been designed to mix the oil and vinegar and then served as vinaigrette from the same bottle with a drizzle spout. Mixing extra virgin olive oil and vinegar produces a different consistency and taste than when eaten separately. Vinaigrette is increasing in popularity. Prior to the main course of any meal, using a soft bread and dipping into a mixture of extra virgin olive oil and a vinaigrette is a wonderful and healthy appetizer. Especially is this common in restaurants with an Italian flair. Your appetite is awakened in preparation of the main course as you anticipate  the same thoughtfulness that went into using the right vinegar and oil container for this special meal.

Oil and Vinegar Cruet Set

Uniquely designed dipping dishes are used, although outside of the United States some may be made with lead paint which is a hazard to your health. A safe restaurant grade olive oil dipping dish was designed and it has great eye appeal and is very functional. This is the same company that designed the no drip Drizzle Cruets. The oil and vinegar are kept separate or they can be combined for a unique flavor. While this special container is being filled, a floral image is seen; a different design is noted with each use. It definitely is a one of a kind kitchen container and can be given as an extraordinary personal gift to anyone special in your life. Dipping dishes are not very common in the United States. A dipping dish that distributes the oil and vinegar according to the consumer’s wishes can indeed be very challenging. Dipping bread has become increasingly popular at most international restaurants and personal homes. With a dipping dish that caters to the customers or house guests taste buds, the meal is sure to be an instant success and of course memories of any special event will not be soon forgotten.

Oil and Vinegar Cruets For The Kitchen and Dining Table

An olive oil bottle, known as an oil and vinegar cruet for the table and kitchen is a very practical and necessary purchase. Olive oil is very healthy for your heart and it is very flavorful, especially when using extra virgin olive oil. Of course, the cost of cold pressed extra virgin olive oil is rather steep, but the taste outweighs out of pocket expenses. That is why it is so important to buy a vessel that will not waste a drop of the precious olive oil when serving it at the table or using it when cooking. When the recipe you are using calls for a “drizzle” of extra virgin olive oil, it means a very small stream of oil will need to be poured out rather hastily.

Oil And Vinegar Cruet Sets

A glass Oil and Vinegar Cruet set should be created with an elegant looking, practical and useful design, especially in a pair. A cruet that has oil dripping down the side will make any guest reluctant to hold it let alone use it during a meal. Olive oil purchased from the store in a dark bottle does not add to the ambiance of a successful meal until it has been poured in an oil and vinegar cruet from The cruet can then save you from having a mess of drips and spills, saving you money that would be wasted on spilled cold pressed extra virgin olive oil.

There are numerous designs and popular decorative cruets which feature gourmet or Tuscan scenes on the bottles. Cruets made in China will have labeled silk screen to appear hand painted. If the cruet pour spouts are made from any other material other than glass or stainless steel, they will corrode when vinegar is added to the bottle. Most chefs prefer oil and vinegar cruets made from glass so that the contents of the bottle can be seen.

Glass Oil And Vinegar Cruet Set

Inexpensive olive oil bottles can be bought at retail stores and grocery stores and they come with a rubber and chromed spout. Unfortunately, though, these cruets tend to tip over easily and drip oil down the sides. Almost all of them break or shatter during light use. You get what you pay for. The Oil and Vinegar Cruets from are made of borosilicate glass and they are the most durable cruets of all. For storage, olive oil needs to be stored in a dark, air tight bottle. This will protect the precious olive oil from ultraviolet lights. Cork stoppers are provided to seal the bottle once it is opened.

The original olive oil bottles purchased at the store are not ideal for dispensing olive oil at a dinner table. An ideal bottle is an oil and vinegar cruet, which will provide the right amount of extra virgin olive oil while preparing a meal or enjoying one at the table. The neck is wide, thus preventing drip and have non-corrosive glass spouts that are hygienic in appearance. This wide neck allows the filling of these bottles made easy as they act as a built in funnel.

When purchasing an oil and vinegar cruet set for the table, show off your finest extra virgin olive oil and balsamic vinegar. Neither will drip on the table or on your guests when being used. A special time requires special dinnerware that will include the appropriate oil and vinegar cruets.

Glass Oil and Vinegar Cruet Sets

Because of the acidity and corrosive nature of vinegar, wanting to find the ideal vinegar cruet sets should be given due consideration. Vinegar should be stored in containers made out of glass, ceramic or stainless steel. A cork or stopper made from a non-corrosive material that won’t break down will also need to be an addition. You do not have to worry about the corrosive nature of olive oil as it is a non-acidic food.

It makes sense that cruet sets made from copper, aluminum or chrome finishers should not be used. They may look good but the inside finish will be dissolved in the contents of the bottle due to the acidity of the vinegar. This can and in most cases does endanger the health of anyone using these containers. Inexpensive stoppers or spouts that have come from China should not be used. The quality is not there and when preparing an ideal dinner party, the last thing you want to be concerned about is anything purchased with a “Made in China” label.

A hand blown glass cruet set that is similar to Pyrex and is very strong and long lasting. Any product made from glass is non-corrosive and the glass spouts and containers are easily cleaned with soap and hot water. A glass cruet set is a two piece cruet. Each cruet has a flared receptacle which integrates a glass spout that will catch any olive oil or vinegar drip after using it. The flared neck also serves as a funnel for filling the cruet. Six fluid ounces is contained in the drizzle cruet and this drizzle method is ideal for using extra virgin olive oil or balsamic vinegar needed for cooking.

If you are in need of a unique gift, then consider oil and vinegar cruet sets for cooking and serving. You know you need to adopt a healthier eating habit and also wish that for your guests. The Mediterranean diet includes the use of extra virgin olive oil to add to the tossed salads, the entrees or to the main meals. By providing a drizzle of oil and vinegar, you can provide a delightful addition to your meals. If you consider yourself a gourmet chef, by measuring out the right quantity of olive oil and vinegar, your entrée and main meal will no doubt create pleasant social memories.

The country of Spain leads the world in first-class quality extra virgin olive oil. The best olives are picked and cold pressed within a few hours of picking and delivers deep rich flavor with a concentrated fruity taste. The end product is extra virgin olive oil which had its beginning while growing in the Mediterranean soil conditions and a microclimate only offered in the Southern province of Andalusia, Spain. This definitely is a delicious and healthy gourmet food gift since so much care has been taken from the time  the olives are picked until they are fully prepared.

Can vinegar be given as a gourmet food gift? Yes, and a gourmet Italian aged Balsamic vinegar is the authentic balsamic, especially Aceto Balsamico di Modena. The vinegar has been aged for at least 12 years in small barrels. This aging process creates a dense, syrupy sweet vinegar with just a hint of tartness. It’s flavor is delicate and can be included in oil and vinegar dressings. The balsamic vinegar can also be used as a compliment for desserts and is poured over fresh fruits. The fruity flavor of the fruits intensifies. You can also use this vinegar over vanilla ice cream and cake.

The Grape Cruet Is The Best Oil And Vinegar Cruet

Olive Oil Cruet Set

Finding drip free olive oil bottles and Oil And Vinegar Cruets can be a difficult task.  After continual use, the sides of an olive oil bottle can become rather slippery, when trying to pour. This often occurs with the cheaper store bought olive oil bottles. These olive oil bottles often have a rubber or chromed metal spout, which can make pouring messy. Eventually the poorly made spouts will become corroded by the vinegar and be very distasteful for using at the dinner table. An olive oil bottle spout should be made from stainless steel, ceramic, or glass material to remain hygienic and easy to clean. The best solution is an Glass Olive Oil Cruet, like the one in the picture. It is known as an oil and vinegar cruet.

You will want to dispense the olive oil you use differently than you store it. If olive oil is stored in clear, large, type bottles it will be less likely to be protected from air and light. Most olive oils are stored in a colored or dark bottle to protect it from any ultraviolet light. The bottles also have a re-sealable cap or cork to try to keep the oil fresh after opening. Inexpensive olive oil bottles are not tasteful to use on the table when serving guests. A decanting olive oil bottle or drizzle cruet is usually recommended for everyday use at the dinner table. These hold about 6 to 8 ounces. The olive oil will stay fresh longer, but will require refilling more often.

Glass Olive Oil Cruet

The ideal Glass Olive Oil Cruet has two features which allow it to be used as a drizzle cruet as an olive oil bottle, which is the primary function of the Oil And Vinegar Cruet decanter. These serving bottles have a glass spout that will not corrode, and a large flared neck that will curb the annoying drips that occur with the cheaper store bought bottles.

Oil And Vinegar Cruets for olive oil and balsamic vinegar show off the artistic Euro design and are practical as well. Each cruet bottle is made of two piece borosilicate glass and is designed to dispense oils and vinegars in a distinct even flow. The flared neck of the bottles are especially useful as a built in funnel when it comes to refilling. The drip less feature of these olive oil bottles help prevent the slippery or sticky touch that always seems to accompany dispensing olive oil or vinegar.

Oil and Vinegar Cruet Set Simple Cleaning Instructions

oil and vinegar cruet sets

How to keep your Glass Cruet Sets sparkling clean all the time.

As a rule of thumb, clean the oil and vinegar cruets as often as you empty them. Leaving oil and vinegar inside the cruet set for a long extended length of time is not recommended. Residue will build up and the cruets may be difficult to clean.

The Cruets are very easy to clean. For best results, we recommend cleaning the Cruets by hand with a Gel Dishwasher Detergent. We found “Palmolive Gel Dishwasher Detergent” to be outstanding. If there are several different Palmolive Dishwasher Gels to choose from, be sure to select one that says “sparkling shine” and “no powder residue” if possible. We recommend the “Baking Soda Fresh Scent.” After cleaning the grape cruet, it will  have condensation on the inside because it is a “glass within glass” double vessel. It is easy to dry the cruet in a heated oven, (and perfectly safe) because the glass cruets sets are made from a special Simax glass, similiar to Pyrex, which can withstand high temps without breaking. FYI, Simax glass is a borosilicate glass, which is also used to make laboratory glassware.

Clean the Glass Cruets as follows:

1. Put on a pair of rubber gloves.
2. Empty Cruet and rinse well, shaking the Cruet with very warm to hot tap water.
3. Place the empty Cruet in the sink.
4. Pour small amount of Palmolive Gel Dishwasher Detergent in Cruet (2–3 Tablespoons)
5. Then add very warm to hot tap water to fill the Cruet about 1/2 full.
6. Cover Cruet spout opening/openings with fingers.
7. Gently shake Cruet to mix Palmolive Gel and water.
8. Then slowly add enough warm to hot tap water to completely fill the Cruet.
9. Set the filled Cruet in the sink, and let it soak for about 5 minutes.
10. Shake soapy mixture well.
11. Rinse several times, very well.
12. Carefully set Cruet upside down on a clean dish cloth to remove any excess water.
13. Preheat Oven to 325 degrees.
14. Place Cruet on oven pan right side up. Place in oven for 20 min. to dry.
15. Using an oven mitt, carefully remove pan with Cruet from oven.
16. Let it cool for about 15-20 minutes.
17. Refill Cruet.

Note: For the drizzle cruets, we recommend hand washing the spouts after each use, this will keep them looking pristine for the next table presentation.

Oil and Vinegar Cruet Grape Cluster Design Called Grape Cruet

Oil and Vinegar Cruet Set

The ideal oil and vinegar cruet will also double as a drizzle cruet. These unique serving cruets, with their elegant Euro design, provide a lovely way to present your finest olive oil and balsamic vinegar to your dinner guests or family. Most importantly, their flared necks prevent unsightly drips and their glass spouts are non-corrosive and more hygienic. In addition, these two piece oil and vinegar cruets are made from the most durable of technical grade glass and drizzle perfectly any manner of oil, vinegar or flavored syrups. The flared necks also act as funnels when refilling, and help prevent the sticky, oily unpleasant touch of handling bottles that drip.

Oil and Vinegar Cruet Glass

If you have ever picked up an oil and vinegar cruet that was slippery from drips down the sides making it difficult to hold, easily tipped over and unattractive in appearance, you have probably been using one of the inexpensive bottles found in convenience and grocery stores. Often they are just the simplest of designs, a rubber or chrome spout dispensing which are not very effective for the olive oil inside. You should especially not be using a matching pair of this type of oil and vinegar cruet to dispense vinegar as well as oil. Spouts made from anything other than ceramic or stainless steel will become corroded from extended exposure to vinegar, … another unattractive table presentation to avoid.

It is very important that olive oil be stored in a different manner than it is dispensed. Large, clear bottles with spouts are ineffective for storage as they do not protect the contents from light and air. You will usually find that the manufacturer has used dark colored bottles to shield the precious oil from ultraviolet light, and provided cork stoppers or reusable caps to seal the bottle once it has been opened.

As effective a means of storage as the darkened, air-tight bottle provides, it is not the best means for dispensing the oil at the dinner table. For normal table use, it is recommended you use a decanting oil and vinegar cruet, which is the most durable and practical. Add a smaller quantity of oil (6 to 8 ounces) to the bottle. You will have to refill it more often, but that will guarantee that the oil is always fresh and the delicate flavor is preserved.

Glass Oil and Vinegar Cruet

Glass Oil and Vinegar Cruet Grape

The glass Oil and Vinegar Cruet have been adapted for the 21st century. The U.S. has been behind the curve with olive oil and vinegar but is making huge strides to get in step with the international diet trend that is thousands of years old. Cooking with olive oil to produce healthy unsaturated fat dishes for the U.S. tables in restaurants and homes has taken the nation by storm. Cooking with olive oil in the Mediterranean has caused a global spread of the use of olive oil to nations that do not even grow olives. The heart healthy olive oil is recommended for salads, pasta, meat rubs and marinades in addition to replacing other vegetable or animal oils for cooking. The oil and vinegar vessels need to be functional, such as a glass Oil and Vinegar Cruet.

Balsamic vinegar is the natural companion to olive oil that compliments the cooked or uncooked dish. Balsamic vinegar is a “wine like” product, produced with grapes, aged in oak casks, with no alcohol, and valued by the oldest age. Balsamic vinegar becomes thicker as it gets older and takes less to flavor your dish. The quality balsamic vinegar starts in an oak barrel and is stored for a minimum of 4 years, and then is distributed in glass bottles. The balsamic vinegar vessel for dispensing should always be glass to prevent a taste robbing acidic reaction with a metal container. Balsamic vinegar and olive oil dressing for salads is the most popular use for this vinegar. Bread dipping with balsamic vinegar and olive oil is quickly over taking the popularity of dressing, but both uses are growing exponentially worldwide! Balsamic vinegar and olive oil for bread dipping are no longer “just Italian” cuisine. Fine restaurants and family tables serve this delicacy as an accoutrement to the main dish regardless of the dish’s national origin.

Vinaigrette has become very popular. The combining of oil and vinegar to make an emulsion for salads and desserts have recipe authors rushing to the printer to be published. The combining of oil and vinegar gives a different texture and taste than when used separately. Every imaginable type of oil and vinegar has been used to make vinaigrettes. The vinaigrette serving vessel or mixing bottle has perplexed servers for years; do you use two separate bottles for each function, a combo bottle or a bowl and a bottle?

Dipping dish vessels specifically for oil and vinegar are new to the U.S. But dipping dishes at the restaurant and home are becoming a must. Choosing a dipping dish that distributes both the oil and vinegar precisely as the consumer desires it can be a challenge. Some imported dipping dishes can only be used for decorative purposes due to lead paint. Bread dipping has become such a popular event at all tables that this appetizer crosses all national cuisines.

Glass Oil and Vinegar Cruet Set

There are very few dispensers for storing gourmet olive oil and vinegar that are functional, convenient and pleasing in the table presentation. Until recently, the same type of vessels that have been used for hundreds of years, held the oil and or vinegar at the stove or on the table. Incorporating eye appeal and functionality, introduces the Glass Oil and Vinegar Cruet that has astounded restaurants and homes worldwide. It becomes increasingly more popular when it comes as a pair, a glass oil and vinegar cruet set.

A new oil and vinegar Grape Cruet combines both liquids in one vessel with European design and elegant see through glass. The Vinaigrette Dressing Bottle has been designed to mix the oil and vinegar emulsion and then serve the vinaigrette from the same bottle with a drizzle spout. Dipping dishes abound, some with lead paint from outside the U.S., some with quaint reservoirs and easily chipped. has a designed a revolutionary, restaurant grade bread Dipping Dish that has eye appeal as well as being highly functional. This dipping dish has the ability to keep oil separate or blend with the vinegar. The floral image produced while filling, gives the viewer a uniquely different design with each use. These are extremely unique one of a kind quality Glass Oil and Vinegar Cruet ideal for any gift occasion.
